15 days skin contact prior to fermentation and then aged 2 years in used oak barrels.
Reia is located in the village of Neblo, in the region of Goriška Brda on the westernmost edge of Slovenia next to the border to Italy.
The peaks afford scenic views over the Julian and Carnic Alps and Dolomites in the background, all the way to the Adriatic Sea. The winery has been family owned and operated for 6 generations. Ever since they started out, they engaged in environmentally friendly agriculture, but in 2010 they decided to make the next step and go biodynamic.
