Hand-harvested from a single vineyard (Canina) at ~900 metres elevation. The vineyard is very close to the river Órbigo, which has a fresh influence on the grapes, and the soils are predominantly stony/clay. Typically this is the last plot to be harvested.

This “clarete” style of wine - mixing red and white grapes - represents the heritage of the region when it was popular to make just one wine. Red grapes received a light press and the juice of all the varieties is mixed together and alcohol fermentation takes place in a vertical, old, French-oak cask. When the fermentation is complete the wine ages for 10 months in the same barrel.

A Furgoneta is a van, and Sara and León found one abandoned on the family vineyards they were restoring.  The name of the wine literally means "the van overlooking the River Órbigo", a river of some significance in the area of the vineyards.

In respect to the environment, no pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used. Some Biodynamic agricultural bases are used.

These wines are a dream fulfilled for Sara Martinez-Lagos and Leon Florez, who combined have more than 26 years experience in the wine trade. They chose the name Latido de Sara - “Sara’s Heartbeat - in honour of Sara’s father who passed away a few years ago, and who always encouraged her to follow her own path, and to make her own wine.
