TASTING NOTES
Ruby red in color with garnet reflexes. On the nose, the wine has beautiful aromas of black cherry, mature plum and liquorice. The taste has good correspondence with the nose showing those same flavours of cherry and plum.

This is Nero d’Avola coming from their estate vineyards in Vittoria from red clay soils. Ageing is completed between concrete tanks and in the bottle. Nero di Lupo is 100% Nero D'avola, grown at 230m on the red soiled, limestone laced soils.
Three friends founded Azienda Agricola COS, in 1980: Giambattista Cilia, Cirino Strano and Giusto Occhipinti, their last names providing the acronym for the name for the winery – COS.
With limestone substrates under 1-2 feet of red clay, COS works organically and biodynamically in order to support the health of the soil. In fact, they have never used any synthetic or chemical additives in the vineyard since the outset in 1980.
A small addition of sulfur is only added at bottling.
