TASTING NOTES

Your next trattoria red! Blackcurrant leaf, some tobacco and freshly tilled earth along with a mix of red and black berry fruit, wet rocks. Supple on the palate with a long, pleasantly herbaceous finish. 

All of Damianos's wines show real delicacy and an elegant touch with a focus on fruit purity and transparent expression.

Fermented and aged in stainless on the less for 9 months.

Le Cerque [meaning Oak Tree] is located in Umbria on 22 hectares of parkland. Damiano Scalici used to lead the United Nations’ global response for food emergencies created by natural disasters. Following his career, he returned to his family’s roots of winemaking and purchased a bucolic retreat in the Umbrian countryside. 

Vines were planted 20 years ago on a lovely mix of limestone and clay soils - with just the right blend of free draining and water retention qualities.  Damiano embraces sustainable agriculture practices, creating high quality products that respect the environment.
