1L of organic Austrian Gruner is as essential as the olive oil in your pantry. This lightly macerated wine comes from Gruner Veltliner grape vines ranging between 10-40 years of age and cultivated from various sites in the Niederösterreich. With yields of 60 hl/ha harvesting is half manual and half mechanical in the first two weeks of September, whole-cluster and following fermentation in stainless steel with ambient yeasts for two weeks. The wine remains on the lees until the end of November and is aged for three month.
Weingut Familie Bauer is located in the Grossriedenthal area of Austria. Here, Josef Bauer and his wife Eva Maria make fantastic wines we love. The Bauers believe in creating wines of the best quality. They are conscientious of the environment. One aspect is employing green covering of flora that cultivates a natural diversity. This reflects the terroir found in their wines.
In their modern cellar, they craft crisp, clean wines from their 17 hectares of vines, including Grüner Veltliner and Roter Veltliner. Other grapes include Spätburgunder, Zweigelt, Merlot, Blauburger, and Riesling, among others.
