TASTING NOTES

Soft, lush and polished with notes of strawberries, plums and milk chocolate along with a liberal dose of oak and tobacco. Heavily perfumed, with flowers, chocolate, dark red fruits, and truffle fragrances. Could age for up to 2 decades. 

A vineyard since the 17th century, Viaud Lalande was purchased by the Durand-Teyssier family in the early 1960’s. With only 1.5ha of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, Phillipe and his son Thomas focus the production of one label Viaud-Lalande.

Hand harvested from a 1 hectare plot of 40 year old vines. The soils are mostly sand and gravel which provide excellent drainage. 

The wine spends time in neutral oak for 18-24 months.
