For almost a century, Recaredo has maintained a firm commitment: to produce wines that reflect the landscapes of the Alt Penedès (Barcelona) as honestly and transparently as possible. 

In 1924 Josep Mata Capellades made his start in the world of sparkling wines as a disgorger and professional winemaker. He subsequently named his winery after his father, Recaredo Mata Figures. Over time, the Recaredo winery (known familiarly as Can Credo) came to specialize in sparkling wines, with the care of the vineyards as a vital element and a resolve to produce sparkling wines that truly connect with the landscapes of the Alt Penedès region.

In 2006, Recaredo embarked on the journey to convert their 65 HA farm to biodynamic agriculture. In 2010 they were named the first Demeter certified biodynamic producer in Pendès. Additionally - in 2019 the winery released their first bottles with the Corpinnat designation. To date, Recaredo is one of only 11 Corpinnat producers.

Celler Credo is their still wine project that aims to spotlight the diverse styles of Xarel.Lo.
