SP68 is a Sicilian red wine produced by Arianna Occhipinti using natural methods. The name refers to the now famous road that runs alongside the contrada Fossa di Lupo in Vittoria beside Arianna's vineyards.
In the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentation takes place in cement tanks for 30 days with daily pumping over and punching down, followed by 6 months of refinement in cement tanks and no filtration at bottling.
The SP68 is the state road that Arianna travels that road every day to get to her vineyards. Arianna only works with vines native to the area, at an elevation of around 280 m above sea level. All production steps follow biodynamic and sustainable farming methods:
