Meldville - Chardonnay - Barrel Select, Lincoln Lakeshore, Niagara (2021)
TASTING NOTES
This is a very smooth Chardonnay with butter, vanilla and spice on the nose alongside burnt toast, honeysuckle and hazelnuts. While it is full bodied, the core of the wine is very elegant with excellent length.

Derek Barnett is an Ontario winemaking legend, starting at Southbrook's early incarnation in Maple, north of Toronto before they moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake. In 2001, Derek left Southbrook to begin Lailey Vineyard making some of Ontario’s earliest examples of knockout, boutique (and cellar-worthy) wines.
In 2015, Lailey was sold and Derek launched his very own Meldville Wines and as winemaker of Karlo Estates where Richard Karlo had unexpectedly passed away.
