Mata I Coloma, established in 2000, is the project of Pere Mata. After years spent working for some of Spain's largest Cava producers, Pere decided to strike out on his own. Working organically he farms 5 hectares of traditional Cava varieties: Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada.
Pere consciously keeps his domaine small, focusing exclusively on domaine bottling and working the vineyards and cellar by hand. All of his wines use only free-run juice, are aged for a minimum of 24 months and bottled with very low, if any, dosage. The result are pristine, laser-focused Cavas.
